Check back weekly throughout the season to see which team from your school has been named the Champion Team of the Week. Being selected as a Champion Team of the Week is all about how you play: sportsmanship, spirit, participation and fun are what we’ll be watching for. Winners will enjoy their 15 minutes of fame in the comfort and style of new Champion hoodies. You can pick your school by using the menu to the right.

Feel the Steel

Feel the Steel may sound like a rough and tumble team, but really these women are just out there to have fun. They have been together for three years and are all part of the Wesley Foundation. They start off every game by praying at mid-field. It doesn’t guarantee a win, but it does show that they know what is important. Last year, they made it all the way to the semi-finals. They didn’t come away victorious, but they made it a close game. They are our Champion Team of the Week because they represent what intramural sports teams should be—teams that have a great attitude, a love for the sport they’re playing, and respect for all on the field.

WEEK 2 – TEAM OF THE WEEK

University of Tennessee

The Untouchables

The Untouchables aren’t an arrogant team. They just know that when they play their best, they are untouchable! So far this year, it has proven to be true. They are our Champion Team of the Week because in both of their games, one of which was a close game and the other a blowout, they exemplified great sportsmanship and enthusiasm.

This year is the first year for this team to play together but they aren’t strangers; most of them went to high school together in Farragut. This would explain why they have the patience to put up with Kevin’s lucky socks and shirt! But he may be onto something…their most memorable game was one in which everything went their way. They weren’t rained out, they won 29-0 and they capped it off by being named the Team of the Week and receiving new Champion hoodies! Quite a game, indeed!

WEEK 1 – TEAM OF THE WEEK

Appalachian State University

Special Forces

Special Forces chose their name with the military in mind. Not only does it allow them to be all that they can be, but it also gives them cool ideas for their uniforms. They received the Champion Team of the Week award because they play with intensity, win their games and most importantly, they have very good sportsmanship both before and after their games!

This group has been playing together for the past two years and most of them also went to high school together. It is a little early in the season this year to choose their most memorable game, but last year’s was the game where they won in the last 7 seconds by faking a spike and then throwing a touchdown pass. Now that was special!
