Can’t Touch This
If you think this group of women is inspired by the musical stylings of MC Hammer, you’re right! They listen to “Can’t Touch This” before every game…and it must work! Our Champion Team of the Week, Can’t Touch This, is the Women’s League Champions. They beat the undefeated and best team in the league in order to win the league. They also got to the City 6 extramural championship game. Amazingly enough, Can’t Touch This has only played as a team for one year. Maybe a little MC Hammer isn’t a bad idea…just make sure you leave the pants at home.

Abusement Park
Abusement Park is a great group of guys that enjoy playing hoops. They are our Champion Team of the Week because of their fun play and their success. They are the Men's B league Champions. In addition, they didn’t lose a game all year. Apparently there is some truth to their explanation of their name—they made up Abusement Park because they "have fun beating up on the opposition". And it looks like the abuse will continue next year as this group of juniors, together since freshman year, will work to repeat their success. Good Luck!

Hoopstars
The Hoopstars are our Champion Team of the Week because they give 100% to the game. They were tied for second place in the regular season and then won 3 games in a row in order to get into the playoffs. This is their first time being a team although a few were together on a different team last year. They said they got their team name because they "are basketball all-stars." And their success proves it! Congratulations!

The Last Hurrah
This group of seniors is aptly named—The Last Hurrah! They are our Champion Team of the Week. The Last Hurrah has been together for 3 years in college, but four of their teammates have known each other since high school. And as their name implies, this was their year to win…and win they did. They are the Men's A league Champions. And it shouldn’t be too surprising because they were undefeated throughout the entire season. Their philosophy is "go hard or go home" and it looks like they are going home, proud new owners of Champion hoodies!

THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID
That’s What She Said is our Champion Team of the Week for their teamwork and scrappy spirit. They compete in the Co–Rec league and have gone on a winning streak. They recently beat the first place team in their division and secured a spot in the playoffs. And they had a great time doing it. Congratulations!

EDDIE WINSLOW & THE PARLIAMENT FUNK
With a name like Eddie Winslow & the Parliament Funk, you can’t help but take notice of this team. Living up to their confident name, they turned their season around to make it to the playoffs. They compete in the men’s A league and after starting the season 0–2 have since won 4 games in a row on their way to a playoff birth. Their ”never say die“ attitude has carried them to success on the court and they are our Champion Team of the Week.

CULLINAN
Champion proudly recognizes this newly formed team for their outstanding
accomplishments on the court. Named after their captain, Team Cullinan won a crucial game this week versus the other top ranked team in the league. Cullinan not only continues to remain undefeated, but also maintains a high level of sportsmanship throughout each game. The basketball court isn't the only sport these players display their skills. Their team quote is, ”Lax or Die. We ball on the court and the field.“ Champion wishes Team Cullinan the best in both their basketball and lacrosse endeavors.

COUGAR HUNTERS
The Cougar Hunters team motto says it all—Nothing but Heart. This team has only been together on the hardcourt for one year but they aren’t a rookie team. All of the guys play rugby together.

HGP
Props to Dave Barry who embodies the Champion spirit. Barry shares his thoughts with us during his first attempt at playing a competitive sport, “It helps me build confidence.” Keep up the good work HGP!
