THE BINGE BOMBERS
The Binge Bombers are our Champion Team of the Week. They have participated in West Virginia intramural leagues for a few years now and have always exhibited exemplary sportsmanship. They have also shown what a talented team they are by advancing in playoffs each year. And they don’t just reserve their talent for flag football. You’ll also see these guys playing basketball as well. They all went to high school together and have a great time both during and after their games. They say that their most memorable moment was being chosen as the team of the week! Enjoy your hoodies!
FIGHTING GUY GREGORIES
The Fighting Guy Gregories are a tribute team. They weren't really sure what name they wanted to choose because the team was thrown together at the last minute. Guy Gregory is one of their (exercise physiology team member's included) professors. He is really enthusiastic about everything he talks about so they decided to name themselves in honor of him! And for being a team that was “thrown together last minute”, they “threw” well! They ended up being the champion for women’s flag football. In addition, they are our Champion Team of the Week because they were extremely enthusiastic and were always very eager to play.
The Fighting Guy Gregories evolved from being a group of women that hadn’t ever played football before to being the league champs. For their first game, they stuck with the basics and wore plain white t-shirts. However, by the third game, they stepped it up a notch and wore camo and eye-black! They also discovered that flag football isn’t for powder puffs…they laughed at how they ended up tons of scrapes and bruises. We congratulate them on a great season!
WVU DREAM
If you could watch WVU Dream, you would know what Intramural CoRec Flag Football is all about! Not only are they extreme good sports, but they can really play the game. With their organization and execution, it is obvious that they spend time practicing plays. WVU Dream is exciting to watch because they really know how to make the game look fun! What more could Champion ask for in a Team of the Week?
WVU Dream is a first-year team that is a collection of good friends. They are a team of very few words (but no small amount of confidence…). When asked how they play they said, “Very Well!” And apparently we are missing out on some fun because we asked them if there were interesting stories about any of the team members and they said, “Tons!” Be on the lookout for the white shirts on the field because they’re “livin’ the dream” and chalking up wins.
DYNASTY
Champion is all about playing sports to have fun. Dynasty is all about showing up early for their games. You would think it was because they wanted to run through some plays and get prepared for the game. Really, it is because they want extra time to goof off!
Dynasty is the perfect team to represent Champion as the Team of the Week. They have shown the highest level of sportsmanship at each and every one of their games so far this season. They are very skilled flag football players; working towards an undefeated season. It is obvious that they enjoy playing the game and are also very good friends both on and off the field. When asked if there were any interesting stories about any of the team members they replied, “Not really…” We think their holding out on us…
